The UrbanMission is a fresh expression of church in the 21st century: by connecting with dozens of community partners, a relational and authentic network effectively serves to heal and promote health, wellness, and sustainability.
Rev. Nora Jacob
Rev. Nora Jacob has served as Restorative Justice Director of The UrbanMission in south Pomona, California, for the past three and a half years. Her ministry responds to her call to walk and work on society's margins with persons affected by incarceration. She leads restorative justice circles inside a California state prison with men serving sentences for major felony crimes. She also founded and coordinates a dynamic area-wide reentry resources network for returning citizens. In addition, in 2016 Nora initiated InsideOut Art at The UrbanMission, a multifaceted restorative justice program that promotes opportunities for currently and formerly incarcerated artists to share their creative work beyond prison bars. Nora is passionate about the potential of restorative justice to be a movement toward greater wholeness in a fragmented world. Nora holds an M.Div. degree from Claremont School of Theology and is a certified Professional Coach in training under the auspices of the International Coach Federation.
