BACKGROUND

Clal has been running the Spark Fellowship, a 9-month innovation practicum for Jewish institutions in and around New York City for 2 years. Funded by UJA-Federation of New York, the Spark Fellowship guides teams of 3-5 professional and lay leaders from each participating institution through a practical design process of empathizing, learning, ideating, and prototyping two innovations. The goal of the fellowship is not only to develop and test the products of the innovation process, but to use those two design cycles as a practice ground for learning the design cycle and integrating it into the institution's everyday practices.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT SPARK

Rather than repeating “This is what we do here, come join us” we were given license to say “We want to help you find the spiritual home that you seek, help us understand what that is”.
