Rabbi Eliana Fischel
Rabbi Eliana Fischel believes that Judaism can elevate every aspect of our lives, from how we pray to how we relate to others. As an Associate Rabbi at Washington Hebrew Congregation (WHC), she leads 2239, a community of 20/30s who are looking for ways to engage and deepen their Jewish connection. Rabbi Fischel also works closely with teens, expectant mothers, those exploring Judaism for the first time, WHC’s LGBTQ+ Affinity Group, and Jews of Color Affinity Group.
Rabbi Fischel was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2018. She was a Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Rabbinic Fellow and a Roswell Klal Yisrael Fellow. She has publications in The Reform Jewish Quarterly and Inscribed: Encounters with the Ten Commandments.
When Rabbi Fischel is not at WHC, she is cuddling with her adorable children--Ezra & Rebecca, laughing with her rabbi-husband--Eric Abbott, or cooking something delicious.
