Elizabeth Ross

Elizabeth Ross is an LCSW with over 15 years of clinical, program design and leadership experience in the social service and non-profit field. Elizabeth is the founding director of The Karsh Family Social Service Center, a co-located integrated social service center serving the Koreatown community of Los Angeles. Created by Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Karsh Center is based on the Jewish belief in “Tikkun Olam”, the imperative to “repair the world”. Elizabeth facilitated the entire build out of this organization in it’s first two years. Elizabeth left the role in December 2017 when she moved to San Francisco with her family, where her husband Avidan’s company is based.
Previously, Elizabeth was the Associate Director for the Magnolia Community Initiative (MCI) in Los Angeles until September 2015. MCI is a strategy for population well being and a collective impact approach based in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles. Elizabeth oversaw a network of 75 cross sector partners working together to change outcomes for children and families over generations. Originally from New York City, Elizabeth was the Clinical Coordinator for 6 years of the Mount Sinai Medical Center Child Advocacy Center. During her time at Mount Sinai, she also worked in the Department of Health Evidence and Policy on a large NIH funded grant addressing post-partum depression. Upon first moving to Los Angles, she continued this work at UCLA Medical Center with direct patient care.
Elizabeth taught as an Adjunct Professor in MSW programs at Fordham University and NYU and has supervised MSW students in their field practicum in New York and Los Angeles programs.
Since moving to San Francisco, Elizabeth has enjoyed volunteer work with Temple Emanu-el, Jewish Family Children’s Services and local food pantry programs.
Additionally, Elizabeth and her husband are supporters of Inner City Arts, Cedars Sinai Postpartum Patient Care Council, 2020 Mom, Children Now, LIFT LA, Barnsdall Art Park Foundation and LA Maker Space.
Elizabeth’s most prized role is being a mom to 3 year old Ezra and 18 month old Eytan!
